Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, GT Road, Amritsar, celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025, with great enthusiasm and reverence to promote the practice and significance of Yoga for overall health and well-being.
The celebrations commenced with the soulful recitation of the school Shabad, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag.
A yoga seminar was conducted by Mr. Bhupinder Singh (DPE) and Ms Sunadika Maan to sensitize and encourage the school community towards adopting Yoga as a way of life. Two students, Mansimrat Kaur and Rababpreet Kaur highlighted the theme and significance of Yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and achieving inner peace.
- A Mass Yoga Demonstration was organized under the supervision of trained instructors, where students enthusiastically participated in performing various yoga postures. The active participation of students reflected their enthusiasm and awareness of the importance of physical and mental well-being.
- To promote reflective thinking and engagement, students were also encouraged to write articles on the benefits of Yoga. These write-ups are to be featured in the upcoming editions of the school magazine and e-newsletter, thereby deepening their understanding of this ancient discipline.
- During the week leading upto Yoga day, teachers guided the students to install the Namaste Yoga App via the official link shared in the circular. Students were introduced to its features such as daily yoga routines, video tutorials, step and calorie count tracker and details of National level yoga events. Students were also encouraged to regularly use the app and share the insights and experiences.
Mrs. Kawalpreet Kaur, Principal and Assistant Director, appreciated the zeal and commitment of the organizing team and participants. She reiterated the importance of integrating Yoga into daily routine for a balanced and sustainable lifestyle, in alignment with this year’s theme: “Yoga for One Earth One Health”
